This journal was born in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic that took over the United States and the world in 2020. As society was forced to remain at home for months on end, young adults were given the gift of time. Seeing this the three women saw an opportunity to use this the gift of time to commit to our personal growth. However, because many young adults have been raised with someone else telling them what to learn when to be somewhere; or how long to invest in things. Much of society fails to commit themselves to their personal growth. Understanding this, Lilly, Bella, and Izzy decided to put their heads together and create the journal they wished they had through the pandemic.
This journal and a small stationery brand were created to encompass the three different areas of expertise from Lilly, Bella, and Izzy. As though this was a real stationary business ready for production on the market. The journal includes mindfulness practices, personal growth mapping, and nourishing practices that Lilly had developed herself over the last six years while on her personal growth journey and communication lessons at the University of Utah. Bella and her expansive knowledge of marketing cultivated the branding and social media management for the company. And our website and original sticker sheets were created with love and care by Izzy.
Our vision with this project is to create a tool that young adults could utilize to create a sustainable daily routine within their life. Inside each journal includes beautifully drawn graphics and illustrations with mindful journal prompts and visualizations to support the growth of its user in all phases of their life. This journal and the accompanying works are heavily influenced by holistic healing, minimalist aesthetics and calming tones. The inspiration for this work comes from many sources including mindfulness books, spiritual practices and other journals around the world seeking to promote productivity and wholeness in life.
We hope that everyone has the opportunity to take some time for themselves each day, so that they may heal, learn and grow from their experiences. When we understand our inner nature we know what we are capable of doing in the outside world, and with that the good we can bring into society.
Your dreamiest dreams are possible and they start with the work you do within yourself.
** Due to COVID-19 pushing back shipping availability for paper copies of our journal we chose to make a downloadable option. So that all visitors of the exhibition may have the opportunity to do the inner work and support their biggest, boldest, loudest dreams in coming to fruition.
