My work explores the relationship between learning disabilities and art technology. With influences including Vashti Harrison and Leo Lionni, I distilled creative art styles into an engaging learning tool for this exhibit.
Growing up, I saw first hand my extended family members struggled with learning disabilities as children. Ever since, I have been curious to learn more about the tools and resources available to young people who may need extra help or attention to succeed in academic settings. “Journey Through the Stars” is an exploration of that curiosity and a thought exercise in creating approachable screening tools to catch signs of dyslexia at an early age in an non-intimidating format.
